Québec City to Rivière Ouelle, 140km: Holy Moly the St. Lawrence is HUGE!

Louise, Mary and I set out to leave the grand city of Québec and return to the quiet highways travelling through small towns. To leave the city we went onto a ferry to cross the river. There we met up with Mike, Dan and Joyce who we cycled with for the remainder of the day.

The day was gorgeous. The sun shone warm and bright in the morning. It did cloud over in the afternoon and became windier; however, the beauty of the route made up for the overcast skies and the wind was in our backs for the most part. We followed Route 132 for the majority of the day. It took us along the St. Lawrence River, which was getting bigger and bigger. The mouth of the river is huge. I never realized how truly massive the St. Lawrence is. We also had a fantastic view of the mountains jutting out of the river.

We stopped at a nice restaurant and ordered pea soup which is cultural food of Québec. Soon after we went onto a bicycle path to get to camp. The bicycle path was lovely, with a great view. All in all the day was enjoyable and it was fun to spend it with Mike, Louise, Mary, Dan and Joyce.
