Atholville to Petit Rocher, 101km: Welcome to the Gulf of St. Lawrence

As the ride was super short we decided to have breakfast later. We had experienced a time change as we entered New Brunswick and the previous evening our campsite was celebrating Christmas in August which equated to a party and consequently not much sleep. As such, we were all grateful for some extra shut eye.

I ended up riding with Dan, Joyce, and Mary. In the town of Campbellton we cycled to the Big Salmon which was a neat statue because the fountain made it look as if the salmon was jumping out of the water. We also took some photos by a fly fishing statue.

From Campbellton we cycled to Dalhousie where we stopped at Tim Hortons for a drink and a snack before we tackled the Dalhousie hill. The Dalhousie hill was short; however, it was quite steep and definitely got the heart rate going. But it was a good physical challenge and the only one of the day :)

The route took us along Route 134 which was right next to the Gulf of St. Lawrence. I made it to the end of the St. Lawrence River! Woo Hoo!!! It was absolutely stunning cycling along the coast of the Gulf.

Our campsite was located on the Gulf and it was gorgeous and vast. It was such a great feeling to have made it to the Gulf. However, I was also experiencing some sadness because reaching the Gulf was a significant reminder that my adventure was coming to a close. But alas, all things must come to an end.
