Binscarth to Minnedosa, 136km: Put the head down and ride

I left with Becky and Louise this morning. When we got off of Route 41 onto Route 42 we were met with a head wind. We decided to form a pace line because we would be heading into this wind for the remainder of the day so any way to decrease the force of wind would help. We met up with Gee, Larry, Rob, and Erik, creating an even bigger pace line. The advantage of a large pace line is it reduces the number of times you need to be at the front pulling the rest of the line. Plus, it makes time go by a bit more quickly.

We stopped at Shoal Lake for lunch. It was a cute little town with a nice beach.

After lunch the goal was simply to get to camp so I put my head down and rode. Reaching Minnedosa was a blessing. Although the wind wasn’t too strong, it still took a chunk of your energy. Before we got into Minnedosa however the road was absolutely brutal. There were so many cracks in the road, it was ridiculous. I was afraid my tire would go flat because of all the bumps. But Paula and I made it there in one piece :)

Tomorrow we were cycling to Portage la Prairie where I would see my sister! I was soooo excited! :)
