The rain began last night and continued for the entire day;
we got soaked.
I rode with Louise, Gee, Larry, and Erik. The first goal of
our ride was to make it to Marathon. There Adam would be making lunch for us to
commemorate the halfway mark of the tour. I made it halfway, holy jumpins’!
Adam made us grilled cheese sandwiches and warmed up cream
of celery soup. The lunch was incredibly welcome; one because it differed from
the regular peanut butter and jams sandwiches, and two, we were cold from the
rain so warm food was a god send. We also made hot chocolate which was fantastic.
At the halfway point we met up with the couple Louise and I met under the
“Welcome to Ontario” sign as well as the man we met at the Arctic/Atlantic
watershed point. It was nice to see fellow riders coming together.
After lunch I was incredibly giddy. I was waving to
truck drivers and just puttering along to camp. Gee was wondering what got into
me but I figured this dreary day needed sunshine and my giddiness could offer
some :)
When we reached camp the rain stopped for just enough time
to allow me to put up my tent, a lovely gift from a wet day :)
