Rest Day in Thunder Bay: A freshwater ocean

The day started by having breakfast at the cafeteria with fellow riders. We loaded our plates up as it was an all you can eat and we went back for seconds and thirds :)

Following breakfast I set out with Yukon Greig, Alain, and Louise to a bicycle shop where I got my gear cable replaced. This would improve my shifting; enabling me to battle the hills coming up in our next cycling segment.

Once my cable was replaced Greig and I left the shop and explored a tiny bit of Thunder Bay. We cycled to a small harbour on Lake Superior. That was the first time I laid eyes on Lake Superior. It is quite the incredible lake. It felt as if I was looking upon an ocean, it was so grand.

After seeing Lake Superior Greig and I stopped at a cafe and then I headed back to the university. I cleaned up Paula and soon enough the day was ending. The next riding segment would be 6 days long and we would be cycling along the northern shore of Lake Superior. The terrain would resemble that experienced through the Rockies, which should not be too challenging as I already accomplished the Rockies, so no biggie :D
