Rest Day in Merritt

When I awoke I was met with a windy and slightly rainy and chilly day. However, I did not mind because I was not cycling today; rather, today was a day to do chores and relax. I walked to the laundry mat in Merritt to do some much needed laundry where I met several other riders there as well. I also cleaned Paula because I had to keep her spick and span so she could take me across the country with no significant problems. While walking around Merritt I discovered in was Canada’s country capitol. There were murals of country artists throughout the town and the laundry mat was covered in signed photos of country artists, it was interesting to see. That evening a large group of riders went out for dinner at Coldwater Hotel. At dinner it became common knowledge to everyone that I had saddle problems and one of the riders suggested I be nicknamed “Happy Cheeks.” Thankfully that nickname did not stick. Overall it was a really fun evening and a nice way to get to know my fellow riders.
